Paroo Contact Children's Mobile

Providing early childhood educational services and supports in outback areas for isolated children and families.

The Mobile was established in 1987 and is one of the most exciting and innovative projects in early childhood education providing an educational service to isolated families in outback areas.

Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile travels with skilled staff to isolated north-west NSW and south-west Queensland, covering an area of 36,000 square kilometres, which is roughly the same size as Tasmania.

A sparse population characterises this service delivery region, with families with young children living on pastoral stations or within small villages such as Cunnamulla, Fords Bridge, Louth, Tilpa, Hungerford, Eulo, Noorama, Thargomindah and Wanaaring.

Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile currently is not operational and efforts continue to reinstate this important service.

Contact and Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile have joining forces

Contact and Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile have joined forces to create one agency, working together to improve the lives of children and families who live in isolated areas and disadvantaged communities of north-west NSW and south-west Queensland.

Both organisations share a similar history and vision, dedicated to achieving more for remote and isolated children and their families through early childhood development programs and family supports.

Now, to better realise this goal and build a stronger and more effective organisation, Contact and Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile have merged and will continue, where relevant, to seek child and family related projects, funding and grants for the Paroo Contact Children’s Mobile service delivery region of north-west NSW and south-west Queensland.
